Blue Grass Community Foundation

Media Collaboratory collaborated with Blue Grass Community Foundation to film and produce a video covering their On the Table event in the spring of 2019. On the Table events are held by communities throughout the world to help bring local members together to discuss topical issues that affect them and their neighbors as well as propose actionable solutions to these problems.

BGCF’s On the Table aimed to accomplish this goal beyond Fayette County by bringing together a larger portion of Central Kentucky; this translated functionally into multiple locations in Fayette, Franklin, and Clark counties under one umbrella event simultaneously being held in various locations on one day. To accomplish filming such an expansive event in an inclusive manner, Media Collaboratory coordinated in advance with BGCF a key set of diverse sessions in a variety of locations to be filmed by three documentary-style crews aiming to capture interviews, engaging b-roll, and audio acquisition of the discussions as they were happening. MC project managed all necessary scheduling, scouting, pre-production, and staffing for the film crews to complete the job successfully over a large regional area.

All video was archived and used to produce a short video promoting the video and its importance. Media Collaboratory also produced a campaign to support this main video with social media nuggets featuring sound bytes culled from the live discussions or shorter interviews that touched on a variety of community issues and solution.
