PROJECT DESCRIPTION
In the winter of 2019, Media Collaboratory won a bid to produce, film, edit, and complete for world premiere the 50th anniversary commemorative film for the World Trade Centers Association to be premiered at previously scheduled event in Taiwan as well as a massive marketing campaign. This win was built on the strength of our current work as well as our extensive archival of WTCA materials spanning several decades.
Media Collaboratory promptly began work on an initial year long schedule that included pre-production, story development and principal filming in Mexico, Amsterdam, Quebec, and New York plus additional production in France, and Colombia. Having collected over 56 interviews, hours of primary footage showcasing members of the WTCA in action at its various events including its 50th Assembly, and the previously mentioned archive of WTCA historical content, MC began post-production to meet the initial target premiere for March 2020; however everything changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Media Collaboratory successfully navigated this sudden change and even safely remote-produced a pick-up shoot in Cyprus while the world was starting to shut down.
With a brand new post-production schedule in-hand and change in direction due to the cancellation of the world premiere, Media Collaboratory delivered the 13 minute film in fall of 2020 to help send off the anniversary with a band. The final film and its accompanying short form commercial captures the emotion behind the history, mission, values, and overall esprit de corps of the WTCA witnessed by those members who have lived and continue living its legacy; one that truly marks a ‘half century of global trade connectivity!’
